Stephen Tabit

Stephen Tabit serves as Assistant Fire Chief and Department Safety Officer for the Swartz Creek Area Fire Department, providing leadership in operational oversight, firefighter safety, and emergency response management. In this dual role, Assistant Chief Tabit is responsible for promoting a strong culture of safety, risk management, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
As Department Safety Officer, Assistant Chief Tabit focuses on reducing on-scene hazards, supporting safe operational decision-making, and ensuring personnel readiness through training and accountability. He works closely with command staff and line personnel to maintain high operational standards while prioritizing the health and safety of department members.
Dedicated to public service and professional excellence, Assistant Chief Tabit brings experience, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to safety to the Swartz Creek Area Fire Department and the community it serves.

Brendt Cole
July 21, 1997
Battalion Chief Brendt Cole serves as the Training Officer for the Swartz Creek Area Fire Department, bringing more than 28 years of service to the organization. Throughout his career, he has held diverse operational and leadership roles and is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating department-wide training programs aligned with state requirements, NFPA standards, and contemporary fire service best practices. He holds an associate degree in Fire Science, a bachelor's degree in Fire Administration with a concentration in Fire Investigation, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Fire Executive Leadership, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Curriculum and Instruction. Known for his collaborative, mentoring-focused leadership style, Battalion Chief Brendt Cole is committed to firefighter safety, professional development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in service to the community.
